It was wonderful to go back east and attend the 'change of command' ceremony for Shad. We were pretty proud as we watched him 'receive' command, hear the speeches, and a luncheon. He has command of a battalion of 70+ people. In the program, it listed Shad's education and awards. We were amazed at all he had done. Way to go Shad!!! Here are a few pics of that special day.
Of course, a trip would not be complete without Spence going to a ballgame...a Yankees one that is. Shad, Luke, and Papa spent the evening watching the Yankees play in Baltimore. It was a good night...the Yankees won! Mary Ann, Abrams, and I spent the night shopping. Shad let us go on a 'fix up the house' shopping spree. It was fun and we got a lot accomplished, didn't we, Mary Ann?
We always have fun when we are with the Maryland Lloyds...and we always seem to go on a trip...this time to Philadelphia. We rented a minivan...yes, Shad drove a minivan. He reluctantly admitted it was a really nice one...but it was still a minivan! It was so nice to have so much room and everyone had their own spot.
Someone was unhappy, could you tell?
Someone fell asleep right away and slept the whole way to Philadelphia!
We spent a great day in Philadelphia experiencing a little of American History. It certainly makes you proud to be an American when you are able to walk in the footsteps of our founding fathers. We were able to visit the Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and take a quaint carriage ride around the historical city.
Thanks Maryland Lloyds. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come visit and travel with you again! (Hopefully this summer!!!)

We certainly did have a good time with Nana & Papa! Thanks so much for coming to visit us and hopefully we will get to do it again REAAAALLLL SOON!!!(wink wink)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all those fun pictures you took, I think I'm gonna steal 'em from you=0)!!
Can't wait to see y'all again very... very... soon!
Looks like a fun trip. The Liberty Bell is one of my favorite historical places that I have been. I appreciate the note pad too.
