Baptism Day for Brock
Brock was so excited to be baptized. He couldn't wait! We gathered at the church and it was so fun to take pictures just like we did when Seth was baptized. Where have the years gone? Afterwards, we went to Seth and Julie's for lunch. It was great...just like eating at Cafe Rio (except I get sick every time I eat there and didn't get sick today. I think I will continue to eat at Cafe Lloyd's and skip Cafe Rio!
Nana gave Brock a rock...a rock you ask? Well, it had some great symbolism...just like the rock I gave Landon at his baptism. Brock's rock was petrified wood with crystals on it. I talked to him about this rock once being a mighty tree...tall and strong...just like him some day. The rock also had crystals on it that shined and stood out just like him. As he grows strong and tall and lives the gospel he will stand out and shine to others.
You can't tell with the picture, but Mr. Brock is pretty proud of the CTR ring his dad bought him. He was dressed so handsomely in his new church suit. My, is that what he is going to look like in 11 years when he goes on his mission. Seth could not believe 8 years had already gone by and 11 will be almost as quick. They truly grow up so quickly...my son baptizing his son. WOW!
Their ward gives each child a nice white towel at the baptism. Nice. Papa was able to be a witness. That was a nice touch. I am sure his great-grandpas and grandmas (Lloyd and King) and his Grandpa Burmester were there too. The Schexnayders and grandparents were also at the baptism. I think of all the pictures I should have taken...at least I took some, right?
The cake turned out pretty good, didn't it? Good thing I am getting practice....there will be a lot more baptisms in the next few years!
