This is what happens when you get the whole summer off and have time and some energy to think about something other than school. I really wanted to put a little punch in my family room and dress up the windows. So after much concentration, I came up with these. I was able to look in some books to get a few ideas and put things together to create my own creation. I am pretty pleased. I still have another window to dress, but that will come later...when I have time to do a little math and figure out how to cut the larger fabric on the bias and figure out what I did to mess up my sewing machine! Nothing like a little success to make you feel good...and, I feel GOOD!
I was definitely inspired to start this project last week. I went over to Joanne's and got my fabric for 40% off plus in their window decor area they had a 80% off section where I got the medallions (those knobs at the top of the window treatment) and rings. The medallions were $7.99 compared to the regular price of $39.99 EACH! Who would spend that much money on little knobs? Anyway, I figure I saved more than twice of what I spent for the whole project. Now, that is good. I was lucky!!!!!!!! I also redid the mantle. I am much happier with it now. I think this room is almost finished...just have to finish the other window and make a table runner to match the curtains.

wow Sandy, the knobs do make a uniquely perfect creation- I have NEVER see knobs- very neat and yes...exciting.
